  2. Once paste is dry, seal it with lemon and sugar solution (mix equal parts lemon juice and sugar and spray it on)

  3. Or apply medc tape to secure dry henna paste to the skin

  4. Allow the paste to remain on the skin 6-12 hours

  5. Peel off dry henna paste gently, DO NOT WASH OFF

  6. Avoid water for 24 hours

  7. Apply Vaseline, Aquaphor, or coconut oil on design before bathing and cover in plastic (glove or plastic bag)

  8. Keeping design hydrated with oil and avoiding water will help henna last

**Henna can last 7 to 14 days with good aftercare. Henna will stain your hands and feet the best because of the high body heat in those areas. **

jAGUA (BLACK HENNA) aftercare

  1. Allow 30 minutes to an hour to allow the jagua gel to fully dry.

  2. Leave the gel on your skin for roughly 2-6 hours. Avoid any kind of activity that will cause you to sweat. Sweating with the gel on your skin can cause the lines to blur.

  3. Remove the jagua gel after 2-6 hours by washing and rinsing away with warm running water and soap. Do not scrub the area or use anything that will cause exfoliation

  4. Your jagua tattoo will be very faint at first. Don’t panic. The design takes anywhere from 24-48 hours to develop on your skin. The results of the stain will vary depending on placement on your body as well as skin type. The stain will be darkest on the hands and feet and gradually lighter towards the back and torso

  5. Going to sleep with jagua gel on your skin is not recommended. The gel will stain everything it touches.

  6. After you have removed the gel, keeping your skin well hydrated by drinking plenty of water and applying a good lotion such as one containing shea or cocoa butter will slow the exfoliation process of your skin and help extend the life of your jagua tattoo. You can also apply a little olive or coconut oil to your design anytime just before showering to prevent any heavy exposure to water
