BRINGING THE ART OF HENNA STRAIGHT TO YOU.

What is henna (mehndi) ?

Henna, also known as mehndi, is a dye made from Lawsonia inermis, the henna plant. Henna leaves are ground into powder, then mixed into a paste that is used to apply to the skin. It is a popular form of body art used in many parts of the world in traditional celebrations. Due to its natural cooling properties, people from warmer climates including the Indian subcontinent, Africa, and the Middle East, have been using henna paste to help control their body temperature for centuries. Henna also has medicinal properties: The cooling provides relief from stress, fever, and headaches, so it’s said to calm the bride’s nerves when applied to their hands and feet.
